چکیده

Nano-sized ZnO particles with a narrow size distribution and high crystallinity were prepared from aqueous solutions with high concentrations of Zn containing salts and citric acid in a conventional spray pyrolysis setup. Structure, morphology and size of the produced material were compared to ZnO material produced by simple spray pyrolysis of zinc nitrates in the same experimental setup. Using transmission electron microscopy and electron tomography it has been shown that citric acid assisted spray pyrolysed material is made up of micron sized secondary particles comprising a shell of lightly agglomerated, monocrystalline primary ZnO nanoparticles with sizes in the 20-30 nm range, separable by a simple ultrasonic treatment step.

Synthesis of ZnO Nanoparticles by Spray Pyrolysis Method

Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles were synthesized by spray pyrolysis method using an aqueous solution of zinc acetate at various concentrations from 5 to 25 wt%. The decomposition of precursor solutions was carried out at 800, 1000 and 1200ºC under different atomizing pressures. The crystal structure and morphology of synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction ...

The effect of Ga-doping on the structural and optical properties of ZnO thin films prepared by spray pyrolysis

In this research, zinc oxide thin films with gallium impurity have been deposited using the spray pyrolysis technique. The structural and optical properties of these films are investigated as a function of gallium doping concentrations. The ZnO and ZnO:Ga  films grown at a substrate temperature of 350 ºC with gallium doping concentrations from 1.0 to 5.0.%. The XRD analysis indicated that ZnO f...

Characterisation of Nanoparticles Synthesized in the Microwave Plasma Discharge Process by Particle Mass Spectrometry and Transmission Electron Microscopy

The physical and chemical properties of nanoparticles frequently depend on their particle size distribution. Previous studies have shown that the microwave plasma (MWP) process yields non-agglomerated nanoparticles in the size range up to 30 nm (Vollath and Sickafus, 1992). The approximate size from bulk samples was determined by Transmission Electron Microscopy TEM. However the sampling and ac...

A comparative study on the dispersion of CuO-ZnO-Al2O3 nanoparticles over HZSM-5 via batch co-precipitation, semibatch co- precipitation and combined co-precipitation-ultrasound methods

A series of CuO-ZnO-Al2O3 nanoparticles over HZSM-5 were successfully prepared using different methods of batch co-precipitation, semibatch co-precipitation and combined co-precipitation-ultrasound. Nitrates of copper, zinc and aluminum were used as precursors, while Na-ZSM-5 was employed as composite support and sodium carbonate was used as precipitant agent. The effects of preparation methods...
